Helping more children stay safe with the Talk PANTS message

Helping More Children Stay Safe with the NSPCC Talk PANTS Campaign

At Broxtowe Women’s Project (BWP), we’re proud to support the NSPCC Talk PANTS campaign, helping children learn important safety messages in a simple, positive and age-appropriate way.

The Talk PANTS campaign gives parents, carers, educators and professionals the confidence to have everyday conversations with children about body safety, consent and speaking up if something doesn’t feel right. Using the friendly Pantosaurus character and newest friend Techosaurus, the campaign helps children understand online safety and that their body belongs to them and that they can always talk to a trusted adult if they are worried.

To make these conversations accessible for every child, the NSPCC also provides a wide range of inclusive resources, including materials for children with additional needs, Makaton and BSL videos, translated guides and resources for autistic children and their families.

Learn the PANTS Rules

The five simple PANTS messages help children remember how to stay safe:

  • P – Privates are private
  • A – Always remember your body belongs to you
  • N – No means no
  • T – Talk about secrets that upset you
  • S – Speak up, someone can help

These messages encourage children to recognise their rights, understand healthy boundaries and know that there is always a trusted adult who will listen.

Resources for Families and Professionals

The NSPCC offers a range of free resources to help continue these conversations at home, in schools and across community settings, including:

  • The Talk PANTS Song with Pantosaurus
  • Storybooks and videos
  • Parent and carer guides
  • Lesson plans and classroom activities
  • SEND, Makaton and British Sign Language (BSL) resources

Whether you’re a parent, teacher or someone who works with children, these resources make it easier to introduce important safeguarding messages in a fun, engaging and reassuring way.

By supporting the Talk PANTS campaign, BWP is helping to raise awareness of child safety, promote open conversations and ensure more children have the knowledge and confidence to speak up when something doesn’t feel right.
