Happy Home Lego Activity

During a children’s outreach session, Lego was used to help a child explore what a happy and safe home looks like. The child designed their own home and chose the people, rooms and outdoor spaces they wanted to include.
Building together created a relaxed and playful way to talk about important things such as kindness, feeling safe, being listened to, spending time together and having somewhere calm to go when emotions feel difficult. The child was able to share their ideas without feeling pressured by lots of direct questions.
Using Lego gave the child control over the activity and helped turn complicated feelings into something they could see, change and explain. It also reinforced the message that every child deserves a home where they feel safe, valued and cared for.
