Walking got us all talking at first Netwalk
We were delighted that so many people from partner organisations could join us for our White Ribbon Netwalk on Friday 24 September.
This Netwalk meeting was conceived with a passion to bring people together to discuss our communities and health inequalities across Broxtowe, with a focus of this initial walk on the White Ribbon Campaign and month during November.
After welcoming walkers including representatives from Broxtowe Borough Council, Notts Victim Care, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire CCG, Social Prescribers and Active Nottingham at Rumbletum’s café in Kimberley, one of our White Ribbon Ambassadors, Jeff, led the 3 mile walk in the surrounding countryside with our Partnerships Manager, Chris Harris.

Conversation flowed for the duration of the 3 mile walk, with attendees sharing roles and responsibilities, stories, motivations, thoughts and ideas whilst getting to know one another in the fresh air.
Chris said: “It was fantastic to be able to talk about the issues that matter to us all in such a relaxed and informal way while enjoying the last of the summer sun. Fresh air and exercise really did spark some good debate, and generated some fresh ideas about White Ribbon campaigning.”
“Our next Netwalk will be on Monday 1st November in the Beeston area, so please let us know if you’d like to join us.”
Attendee said: “Netwalking – What a fantastic idea? Much quicker than sending emails, and much more enjoyable”.
Melissa Morrell, Place Lead for Active Notts proclaimed that the walk had introduced her to five new organisations that she otherwise may never have met before.
If you would like to join the next walk, or learn more about the White Ribbon Campaign and how you can get involved during November and December to raise awareness, please contact Chris Harris, Partnership Manager, BWP Chris@broxtowewp.org
