We’re excited to announced that BWP are opening a charity shop, and it’s not just any charity shop, it’s a thing of beauty. We will also be run creative workshops. We are looking for stylish, enthusiastic, and creative volunteers to help run our space. From online sales to donation collection, we have a role for everyone. Join us to help find our items their forever home, make friends, and help support our cause in a beautiful, friendly environment

We’re looking for enthusiastic and positive volunteers with a love for fashion, community, and creativity. Join our team and help run our new beautiful charity shop to support families affected by domestic abuse. Each role offers a unique chance to learn new skills, make a difference, be part of a passionate team and help contribute to generating critical funds for our delivery services.

1. Online Sales Volunteer

Are you a digital-savvy person with an eye for what sells? Our Online Sales Volunteers help with photographing, listing, and managing items on online platforms. This role is perfect for anyone interested in e-commerce and learning about online retail.

2. Clothing Preparation Volunteer

Help make our donations look fabulous! As a Clothes Prep Volunteer, you’ll steam and prepare clothes to ensure they’re in top-notch condition before they hit the shop floor. If you’re detail-oriented and enjoy working with your hands, this is a perfect fit.

3. Donation Collection Volunteer

As a Donation Collection Volunteer, you’ll help pick up donations from various locations and bring them to our shop. You’ll meet supporters and play a key role in keeping our shop stocked with wonderful items – and will ensure that gift aid forms are completed. Ideal for friendly, community-minded people with wheels.

4. Sorting & Donation Volunteer

Join us behind the scenes to sort, organise, and select donations that align with our shop’s style and quality standards. You’ll get hands-on with donations and gain experience in retail sorting and quality control.

5. Visual Merchandising Volunteer

If you have a flair for design, this is your role! Help us create beautiful and engaging displays throughout the shop. This role is great for anyone with a love of visual styling or an interest in learning more about merchandising. styling or an interest in learning more about merchandising. You will also co-create seasonal and awareness displays such as campaigns promoting sustainable fashion like Second-Hand September.

6. Payment and Packing Volunteer

This role is key in getting the sales over the line with both cash and card payments and ensuring that they’re wrapped and packed for departure – we offer a treat for those that bring back their paper bags to be reused, so encouraging recycling will be part of your role.

What to expect:

-All volunteers will receive full training and will be encouraged to promote other opportunities for customers to get involved in.

-On-going support and guidance from the shop manager

-An opportunity to utilise and develop your portfolio of skills and experience

-Lunch and local travel expenses can be reimbursed in line with BWP’s volunteer policy

Requirements of the role:

-Commitment to BWP’s values of empowerment, accountability and inclusiveness

-Ability to work within BWP’s volunteering policies and shop guidelines

All volunteers will receive full training, will be expected to ensure that we are environmentally friendly and sustainable as possible.

Volunteers will be encouraged to promote other opportunities for customers to get involved in.
