Nottingham Speaks Up: A Creative Exhibition by Broxtowe Women’s Project
This powerful exhibition has been created by Broxtowe Women’s Project (BWP) as part of the Nottingham Speaks Up initiative, inspired by this year’s White Ribbon theme – “We Speak Up.”
White Ribbon is a global campaign calling on everyone especially men and boys to take action and speak out against violence towards women and girls. It is a movement built on the belief that change begins when silence is broken and voices are heard.
Through this exhibition, we celebrate the courage, creativity, and resilience of women in our community. The writing, poetry, and artwork displayed here have been created by women involved in BWP’s Creative Writing Programme and wider support projects, each piece offering a deeply personal reflection on themes of voice, identity, strength, and hope.
Together, these works remind us that speaking up can take many forms — a word, a brushstroke, a shared story and that every act of expression contributes to a world where women and girls can live free from fear and inequality.
About the Exhibition
This collection will be on display at Eastwood Library from 14 November – 16 December.
We invite you to explore, reflect, and join us in standing up against gender-based violence. Because when we speak up, we create change.
